Oh Hai Peggy! Los Angeles looks good on you! Marvel just announced that Agent Carter returns for its sophomore season with a huge two-hour premiere on January 5th. Along with this announcement, Marvel dropped our first look at Peggy in Season 2.
We’ll be catching up with Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter in Los Angeles. This first look captures the change in scenery, and it’s not just the blurry palm trees in the background. The smile, the posture and the expression on Peggy’s face offers a glimpse in the change of tone from the immediate aftershocks of the war, Peggy’s struggles to find her place in post-war America, and her grief following the loss of Steve Rogers. Truly moving away from that, physically, here we see Peggy with a relaxed smile, sun-kissed, and more relaxed, than her more constrained first season looks. It’s California, and California looks good on her.
It’s a sharp contrast from some of our first looks at Agent Carter in Season 1
Even when she’s rocking those shades
Given it’s only a small glimpse, and we know Carter’s fight is far from over – I hope this image is reflective of the tone of season two – it’ll be fun to see our gal back in action and feeling just a little bit sunnier.
Relocated to Los Angeles, Season 2 will see Peggy joined by her old friends, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), and old foes, including Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan), while newcomers including Kirkwood Smith as Vernon Masters, a veteran of the War Department, Ken Marino as mob boss, Joseph Manfredi, round out the cast. Additional supporting cast includes: Wynn Everett as Whitney Frost, Reggie Austin as Dr. Jason Wilkes, Currie Graham as Calvin Chadwick, Lotte Verbeek as Ana Jarvis and Lesley Boone as Rose.
